Finished Digipak

This is my final complete digipak.

This is the front cover of my digipak. I decided to stay with the use of the blue and green colours because i felt they worked really well on the cover and stood out in a nice way, nothing too bright and loud. I did so by using the contrast effect which i moved the level so that it brought out the colours slightly more than they already were and also gave a sharpness to the picture. I also used the brightening effect whereby i raised this so that it gave the picture more light and vibrance certainly enhancing my artist's clothing. I then also used the colour balance effect where i raised the percentage of certain colours so that they became more of an evident and vibrant colour. I also used a bevel and emboss effect on the text which gave it a slightly urban look tieing in with the backgournd of the front cover. I also decided to use this effect as i feel it gives it a 3D look which will make my artists name stand out to buyers.

This is my back cover. I decided to use a picture in the same location so that i could keep in the theme of the urbanised wall and the blues and greens. I specifically wanted to use this picture of my artist as she looks as though she is in a very reflective mood which is exactly what i wanted to express especially with the titles of her songs which are right next to her. I also felt that my choice in song titles helped to reinforce the thought provoking, emotional look on her face. I did so by using titles such as our young hearts and let me in suggesting her emtions towars love and relationships. I also used the same effects as i did before on the front cover here on the back cover. I made sure that i brought our the colours in the background and in her short and denim jacket so that they stood out and became more eye catching. I again also used the bevel and emboss effect to enhance the lettering of the song titles and i also wanted to use a slightly purple/blue colour in the text to match with the front cover and to give the cover a variety of colours.

This is my CD tray cover.  I was extremely influenced by the pictures in my research when planning for ideas for my digipak When taking the pictures i asked my artist to write a song in a notebook so that i could create an 'in the moment' look to the cover. I also asked my artist that it didnt matter if she made mistakes when writing the song as i wanted it to look as though she had taken time to think about the emtions she was trying to portray. I also wanted to tie in the autumnal colours this cover and my lyric book cover with the autumnal colours used in our music video. I did so by using effects such as contrast, brightness and saturation to enhance these colours.

This is my final lyric book cover. I wanted to create an acoustic feel to this cover by having my artist playing the guitar with a song writing book next to her. I felt that by doing so it would reflect the theme and acoustic vibe of the music video and reinforce this fact as there were no instruments used in the music video. I also wanted to keep in theme of the autumnal colours therefore i also used the effects of contrast, brightness and saturation to help enhance the colours and also to add vibrance to the colour of the guitar. I chose to create my pocket to be clear for my lyric book as i wanted to make sure the audience could see the fact my artist was playing the guitar and also not to cut the picture off therefore creating a look that wouldnt work well to the eye. I then also created a text to suggest the lyric book by using the same font that i used on the front and back cover of my digipak. I then also used the bevel and emboss effect to help make the lettering stand out and help people to understand that the book inside is a lyric book.

Overall i am tremendosly happy with my digipak and how it has turned out. I am happy with all the colours i have chosen to use and i feel they reflect some of the themes in my music video very well. Especially for example the use of the blues and greens i feel represent the nature and outdoors in the music video. The yellows and oranges on the inside covers i feel represent the autumnal colours in our musiv video and the use of the guitar represents the acoustic sounds in the song and music video

Back Cover Song Track List

Today i have been working on the back cover of my digipak. I also had to plan what songs i wanted to add to Please Dont Say You Love Me which is obviously used in our music video. I thought of titles that i could use for song names that i felt would reflect my artists genre in music and that would also keep in close contact with our music video song. Here are the song titles i came up with:

- Please don't say you love me- song used in music video

- Make me fall

- Candles

- Our Young Hearts

- All the little details

- Let me in

- On the ground

The reason i named them in this way is because i felt that they all portrayed a sense of love and relationships. I also felt that they expressed an extreme amount of emotion from the artist which she portrays hugely in our music video with the song Please Dont Say You Love Me. Lastly i felt that they showed an acoustic and soft theme to my artist and that she is someone who has a loving connection towards music and expressing her feelings through her music.

Digipak Progress

Here is some progress of the front cover of my digipak. When taking pictures for my digipak i wanted to express the urbansied ripped wallpaper theme i researched when creating ideas for it. Luckily i found this wall localy, it wasn't exactly how i wanted it to look but i was still happy that it expressed what i wanted it to express which was a slight urban and unique feel. I started to photoshop in the text of my artists name. The text which i have chosen to use is called The Maple Origins downloaded from the text website i was introducec to called Dafont.com. I feel that this font ties in well with the wall in the background and also reignforces the edgy urban look. I have also started to play around with the colours in this picture. By using effects such as contrast, brightening, saturation and also especially colour balance which i have used so that i can bring out the blue's and greens in the picture as i fell they stand out the most and that it is something i can use as a theme for my advert aswell.

Digipak Ideas

Today i started mind mapping ideas for my digipak that i feel would represent my artist and her brand identity. Some of the ideas i had for the digipak was firstly a very acoustic look and theme therefore i thought written lyrics or songwriting in a lyric book would represent this theme very well. Here are some inspirational images that i am aiming for in my digipak:

I then also thought of creating a slightly urbanised style to my artist and the theme of the digipak as i felt my artist portrayed a new British urbansied artist. Therfore this is why i looked for inspirational images of torn wallpaper as i felt it reflected the rawness of my artist and her songs aswell as her style and fashion.
Here are some of the inspirational images that i would like to aspire to in my digipak:
